Waiting On God
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Good morning. I was encouraged by this word of encouragement; I wrote it a while back, and it remains true today.
As I thought about what it is to wait on the Lord, He reminded me that it is not a time of feeling overlooked or a time to feel overwhelmed. Waiting on the Lord is partnering with God, actively participating by trusting what He wants to do for you and with you. Oftentimes we think of waiting as if God has forgotten about us, and the easiest thing to do is just give up. I know this is where I have felt defeated in moments in my life; I believe we all have. However, waiting takes faith; it takes perseverance.
There is a reason the word of God tells us to wait; it is so that we can not only stand but also be reminded that God will still do what He has spoken about us. And I am here to remind you that yes, He will still do it for you, The bible tells me that God is not a liar as men are for instance Hannah felt that she was forgotten but God honored her heart desire, Abraham was tested in the wait to see the promise of an Heir and we are evidence of that till this day; When Moses stood before the Red Sea that wait tested Him to believe that no obstacle is to big for God. The Bible reminds us that many have seen God move no matter how long the wait has been, and it is still true for you, so stand and be encouraged.
Secondly, do not question; I often remind myself, and others, to worship and praise instead of complaining. Thank Him for responding, thank Him for the Rest (refreshing) in the midst of the wait. There are answers, breakthroughs, and blessings that exceed our expectations if we allow Him to be the Lord of everything in our lives. What I picture when asked to wait is the impatience that we have, the grumbling, the anger, and the frustration. But if we can grab hold of this passage, He tells us we will not be weary (heavily burdened, exhausted). So many of us are exhausted with what is not changing. Trust that your answers will come.
God must be up to something pretty great if He’s taking the time to tell me to be still. If He’s telling me to wait. If He’s telling me not to worry. When He can ask us to rest, when He can say I got you; wait on me. I got it all under control. Let me take the wheel. You have been carrying the burden far too long; release it to me. Sisters, be strengthened and reminded that rest is a reward; even though that situation has seemed impossible, He is still working. Do not give up and wait for God to show up. Run as one who has a purpose. Learn from Him, and you will draw closer to Him. He’s with you. You will be empowered to keep moving forward and fulfilling all God has for you in this time in your life and in the seasons ahead. So take a deep breath and let Him be God in you.
Prayer: Father God, I ask that you strengthen your daughters in what they are facing. Lord, be glorified in their midst. Shut the mouths of lions in their lives, and as they wait, renew them with hope in knowing that you are working out your perfect plan for them. Bless them in Jesus' name. Amen.
